The application for The Business Platinum Card® from American Express is online, and you can make it on their website.
When you try to apply for a business card account, you, as an individual and official authorizing officer of the company, are authorizing American Express to open a company account with them.
So, you’ll be agreeing to use the card for business purposes. If you want to have The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, make sure you meet the requirements:
- You must have at least good credit;
- You need to be at least 18 years old;
- You must be a U.S resident.
Once you have that, you can start the pre-qualification process at the Amex website. You’ll have to provide personal and business information, credit score, and other typical data there.
Amex will then analyze your request based on the information provided and see if you qualify for their card. If so, you’ll receive a confirmation answer from them.
Apply using the app
American Express has apps for both iPhones and Androids.
You can download them once you have an account to manage it, check your balances and see your rewards, and make payments.
However, you can not use the mobile app to complete any application process.

- Rewards: 5X Membership Rewards® points on flights and prepaid hotels on AmexTravel.com, and 1X points for each dollar you spend on eligible purchases.
- Other rewards: Earn 1.5X points (that’s an extra half point per dollar) on each eligible purchase at US construction material, hardware suppliers, electronic goods retailers, and software & cloud system providers, and shipping providers, as well as on purchases of $5,000 or more everywhere else, on up to $2 million of these purchases per calendar year.

- Annual Fee: $195 ($95 for each authorized user);
- Regular APR: variable 17.24% APR for purchases and balance transfers (0% intro APR for the first 15 cycles) and 27.49% for Cash Advances;
