  • Welcome bonus: 60,000 bonus ThankYou® Points after you spend $4,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening; Plus, for a limited time, earn a total of 10 ThankYou® Points per $1 spent on hotel, car rentals, and attractions (excluding air travel) booked on the Citi Travel℠ portal through June 30, 2024;
  • Rewards: 3x points on restaurants, gas stations, supermarkets, air travel, and hotels; and 1x points on other purchases.

Citi Premier® Card: how does it work?

The Citi Premier® Card is a good credit card for people looking to travel and purchase rewards.

This card’s most attractive feature is the signing-up bonus of $60,000 points for purchases of $4,000 in the first three months of use.

You can redeem those points on ThankYou® Points for travel rewards or $600 in gift cards redeemable for $600 in gift cards or travel rewards at thankyou.com. With this card, you will earn the following rewards on purchases:

  • 3x points on air travel and hotels;
  • 3x points on purchases in supermarkets and gas stations;
  • 1x point on other purchases.

Then it’s important to understand that only the purchases listed on their website will count as rewards. So, make sure you read the terms before you start using them.

In addition to these benefits, you can be eligible for $100 off in a single stay of $500 or more in hotels yearly. The fees and taxes are not included.

That said, if you want a card for traveling, this might be good for you because you won’t have to pay foreign transaction fees, either.
