Capital One Guaranteed Mastercard® credit card: how does it work?

Capital One is one of the biggest banking companies in the world. In Canada, it provides excellent credit cards for everyday use and also travel credit cards.

Guaranteed Mastercard® is the starter card for clients who are building a credit history. And with Capital One’s Quick Check® program, it’s easy to see whether or not you’ll get approved.

The card has three different versions, and you’ll get the one that suits your profile. The eligibility requirements are quite simple:

  • The first requirement is that you must be at least the legal age of your province.
  • Secondly, you don’t have any pre-existing Capital One account.
  • Also, there can’t be any pending application made by you to get any other Capital One credit card.
  • If you tried to apply, it can’t have been in the last 30 days.
  • Finally, you can’t apply for the Guarantee Mastercard® if you‘ve been negligent with a Capital One account for the last year.

As you can see, there is nothing about your credit score there. But depending on your financial history, you will get the best offer for you for an unsecured or secured card.
