  • Credit Score: 660 or higher (good to excellent);
  • Annual Fee: $250 (see rates and fees);
  • Regular APR: 20.99%-29.99% variable APR on purchases based on your creditworthiness and profile; also 29.99% variable APR for cash advances (see rates and fees);
  • Welcome bonus: Earn 50,000 bonus miles after you spend $3,000 in purchases on your new Card in your first 6 months;
  • Rewards: 3X miles on Delta purchases and hotels; 2X miles at U.S. supermarkets and dining at restaurants in the U.S., including delivery and takeout (U.S.);
  • Other rewards: Earn 1X Miles on all other eligible purchases.

The Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card offers many perks for travelers, as you’ll see in our review.

You can earn miles on hotels and Delta purchases for vacations and trips (3X miles); also miles at U.S supermarkets and restaurants (2X), including delivery and takeout (terms apply).

Still, 1X mile on other eligible purchases. Also, have an Annual Companion Certificate and enjoy a domestic Main cabin round-trip each year after renewal (terms apply).

And as a benefit of the card’s membership, you can check your first luggage for free on flights that you book with Delta. Still, earn free credit for Global Entry or TSA Precheck (terms apply). 

You may earn 20% cash back for in-flight Delta purchases, too, and you can opt for trip delay, baggage, and car insurance (terms apply).

You’ll also have the Global Assist® Hotline available 24/7 for travels more than 100 miles away from your home. And you won’t have to pay foreign transaction fees (terms apply).

Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card: should you get one?

  • Receive a Domestic Main Cabin round-trip companion certificate each year upon renewal of your Card. Payment of the government imposed taxes and fees of no more than $80 for roundtrip domestic flights (for itineraries with up to four flight segments) is required.   • Enjoy your first checked bag free on Delta flights. Plus enjoy Main Cabin 1 Priority Boarding and settle into your seat sooner.
  • Card Members get 15% off when using miles to book Award Travel on Delta flights through delta.com and the Fly Delta app. Discount not applicable to partner-operated flights or to taxes and fees.
  • Earn 3X Miles on Delta purchases and purchases made directly with hotels.
  • Earn 2X Miles at restaurants worldwide including takeout and delivery in the U.S., and at U.S. supermarkets.
  • Earn 1X Miles on all other eligible purchases.
  • Get access to Delta Sky Club® at a rate of $50 per person per visit for you and up to two guests or immediate family when traveling on a Delta flight from now until 12/31/23. Effective 1/1/24, this benefit will no longer be available.
  • Fee Credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck® after you apply through any Official Enrollment Provider. If approved for Global Entry, at no additional charge, you will receive access to TSA PreCheck.
  • Earn 10,000 Medallion® Qualification Miles (MQMs) after you spend $25,000 in purchases on your Delta Platinum Card, up to two times through 12/31/23.
