Step 2: Check your Credit Score

Then Navy Federal will contact one of the three main credit bureaus to determine your credit score eligibility, which should be good credit or higher.

Note that this process will result in a hard inquiry that may impact your credit. However, it will be set out by the bureau.

However, you can pre-qualify on the Navy Federal website with a soft pull. So, if you aren’t eligible, it won’t hurt your score.

Step 3: Text Approval

If approved and we have your phone number on file, Navy Federal will notify you via text.

Conversely, if it’s not approved, you will receive a letter within 30 days explaining the reason.
