Apply online

Go to the Capital One Bank website and click “Apply” or “Open Account” (whichever you find first on the page). You will then choose whether you want to open an individual account or a joint account.

Then you will be asked to provide them with some simple information such as your first and last name, date of birth, Social Security number, country of citizenship, employment status, annual income, and a few other things.

It is 100% safe to open an account online from the comfort of your home, and once you’re done, you can immediately start the application for your Capital One card.

But if you prefer being physically present when you provide your personal information, Capital One Bank also has physical branches you can visit to do the application process.

The only account you can only open through their website is a MONEY account. For all the others, you have the option of doing both online or in person.

Once the account has been set up, you will need to make an initial deposit within a set time period, and you’ll be on your way to getting your Capital One card.

Even though Capital One does not require a minimum amount for your first deposit, it is necessary to do it prior to the end of the period that they have established. If that doesn’t happen, your account may be closed.

It’s also important to note that some accounts may have more requirements. The 360 IRA, for example, can only be opened if you already have another 360 account.
